Adjacent to Halong Bay, Bai Tu Long Bay is a hidden gem of the biosphere, famous for its pristine natural beauty. Bai Tu Long National Park is a part of Bai Tu Long Bay, Van Don District, about 200 kilometers away to the east of Hanoi city center. The National Park has the marine ecosystems covering 2/3 water surface area of the national park; it is a home of many rare animals and plants species listed in the Red Book.
Embracing a total area of 15.7 hectares approximately, Bai Tu Long National Park includes a jungle of about 6 hectares with over 40 islands in all sizes; Ba Mun Ecology Island is the main part of the national park. This park is a shelter for numerous rare animals and plants having precious genetic resources.
Bai Tu Long National Park is comprised of land islands interleaving rocky islands such as Ba Mun, Dong Ma, and Soi Nhu. There are many flora and fauna in the valley nested by limestone mountains, and Bat Cave Valley is the most highlight spot due to the diversity of plant and animal species. Guests visiting this area can have a chance of seeing frogs, snakes as well as other saltwater species. Another interesting destination is Bat Cave, a home of thousands of bats, located deep into the jungle that requires some trekking.
Travelers can spend time relaxing on natural white sandy beaches in Minh Chau commune, one of the most stunning beaches in the Gulf of Tonkin.
